MAIN LOT- 125 PAINTED
This last-living-day issue pays tribute to one of America's most-loved catchers in all of baseball history. A player for the New York Yankees his entire playing career, then coaching for the Mets, the main lot has Yogi portrayed in his Yankees cap, while the artist's proofs have him wearing his Mets Cap. When Yogi stepped up to the plate, he wasn't going up against the pitcher, rather, the pitcher was going up against Yogi. All pitchers knew if any pitch got anywhere close to the plate, Yogi was going to swing at it- and what Yogi swung at, he usually hit. For the opposing players on base, they knew their journey to home plate meant having to get past Yogi Berra.
ARTIST'S PROOFS- 30 PAINTED
On both the main lot and artist's proofs, at your request, I will paint on your Yogi Berra cover a dark gray border, visually indicating it as a mourning cover.
NOTE: in order to collect the Artist's Proof,
you must collect at least one from the main lot. Artist's Proofs are subject to selling out soon after release.
The So Long Yogi Berra topical event issue is accompanied by the new CERTIFICATE PLUS. Sleeved, on the flip-side it displays the certificate portion. When removed and unfolded, the piece serves as a
