Kendal says,

Janice is considering inserting the covers in a zip lock bag prior to packing them up for shipping.

David says,

the idea of those covers going through Houston in the condition the city is in, seems risky.

TRUMPS READY TO SHIP, BUT NOT SO FAST

I'm back in the studio. good news- no covers have gotten wet, as Harvey dumps some serious rain from above. This is Monday night, and what's left of Harvey is headed our way. His only threat is a bit more rain. Not much though, I hear. Friends and family in Houston got hit really hard. The Trumps are packed up ready to go. We're just waiting for the USPS to dry out. Seriously. I don't want your covers to arrive water damaged.  All my mailed pieces are processed and pass through the Houston USPS system. And you've seen Houston on the news. Let's keep your Bevil covers away from there for the time being. I thought of driving them one hour east and shipping them out from Lake Charles, but now Lake Charles is getting doused.

Shown above is the moment of gently removing the protective tab from each cancelled cover.  This issue got off to a scary start when I realized I had affixed American Flag stamps which had a FDOI date later than the cancel date of January 20, 2017. I then carefully removed each stamp, by hand, from the painted covers. That could have been disastrous. All went well. After that it was downhill, with no surprises.

Here's everything from some time back, ready to be assembled and mailed out to all the Bevil collectors who've been waiting so long for their Trump Inauguration covers. I'm presently signing and numbering the Greetings From New Jersey issue, and they should ship out sometime in September. Then So Long

Arnold Palmer, which has been inked, but not yet completely painted.  As I wrap up my evening, I hear the rain coming down. Seems Harvey has a little left to give. A few Bevil collectors reside in the Houston area. Be safe, and  I hope to soon hear you're well and dry.

With Trump sitting here as we wait for Southeast Texas to dry out a bit, I'm utilizing the time, preparing Greetings From New Jersey to be released. The issue is painted, numbered signed, with the newly-designed certificates/article being printed this week. That being the case, I see no reason to not send the GFA NJ issue out with the Trump issue. It's raining outside pretty good, though I hear by late Wednesday Harvey will be moving on past us. I will most likely transport the packets to Lake Charles, utilizing their postal service.
